Norther Lakes Equine Practice is equipped with a state-of-the-art ultrasound capable of imaging multiple body systems. When paired with a comprehensive exam, ultrasound imaging allows us to more effectively diagnose and assess a variety of conditions, helps us to implement appropriate treatment strategies, and enables us to monitor response to treatment.

The use of diagnostic ultrasound allows for early diagnosis of soft tissue injuries in equine lameness cases, and allows us to tailor a rehabilitation program specific to each horse and injury.

In addition, our ability to perform thoracic and abdominal ultrasounds allows for more comprehensive assessment of medical cases, such as pneumonia or colic, and monitor response to therapy. Click here to learn how ultrasound can be a useful diagnostic tool in certain colic cases.
